I take small groups of 4 people for a holiday with immersive Spanish lessons to my house in Asturias, in North West Spain. This is a region of Spain where very little English is spoken so there is plenty of opportunity to practice listening and speaking Spanish, in the house or out and about in the markets, cafes or shops. I provide traditional, locally produced food and arrange sightseeing visits around this incredibly beautiful and, for UK visitors, little known region of the country.

We took Silvia up on her offer of places on her teaching holidays in Asturias and are so glad we did.
Asturias is a region of such astounding beauty that seemed devoid of any other Brits so we could be almost certain of having to use our Spanish, although Sylvia never left us ‘stranded’! Silvia’s house is beautiful, in a remote hillside village and her hospitality was marvellous.
The idea of hearing Spanish from many and varied voices is definitely the way to enhance your learning. We went out every day to local landmarks, shops and markets where we saw the wonderful sights and people of Asturias. Sylvia’s teaching was very relaxed and not conducted in a formal manner so the 3 day trip was an enjoyable learning ‘holiday’ and not like an out-of-school lesson! Go, if you are able.

A few years back I went for a four-day learning experience with three other ladies to Asturias, to have an intensive practice of spoken Spanish, which was spoken throughout, and also visit beauty spots and sites of interest around Asturias. We stayed in Silvia’s house in a little village in the mountains and had a great time. Every day we were taken to different places to explore, we also had the opportunity to practice our Spanish in shops and restaurants, as well as enjoying superb home cooked Spanish cuisine in the evenings. Everything was included in the very reasonable fee. I’d have no hesitation in recommending this trip to anyone who wants to improve their Spanish and have a lovely holiday at the same time.

I have had the opportunity to go to her wonderful home in Asturias, where we speak Spanish most of the time and she takes us out for day trips and exploring. We also get to know the local villagers.
